A monthly class which will be a combination of Restorative and Yin Yoga, Pranayama (breathing exercises), shared experience and advice for a healthy grieving process

8th June 2019 Weight Loss Yoga for Everyone (11 Places Left!)

This workshop will have a focus on building lean tissue and encouraging the shedding of any excess weight to promote a strong and healthy body fit for all of life’s demands. For Emma, Yoga has been the central tool in building a healthy body and mind from the inside out, taking her from the Obesity category to the energetic and happy body that she now has and is grateful for. One of the second limbs of Yoga is Tapas referring to the creation of heat through the body to burn away impurities. We will use a combination of posture and heating breath practices to let go of what we no longer need and feel santosha (contentment) with what we have.

14th September 2019 Yoga for Healthy Knees (16 Places Left!)

Our knees are vulnerable joints and can sometimes be made more vulnerable by our everyday movement patterns. Emma has managed and continues to manage a hereditary knee condition and has found Yoga to be a great help in creating healthy movement patterns and encouraging strength in both the joints and soft tissue to reduce discomfort and protect the areas which require protection. This workshop will include:

Asana to strenghten, mobilise and protect the knee joints

Use of blocks and other supports in our Yoga practice

How to take our practice off the mat into our everyday lives

Advice on wider factors such as environment and nutrition

Yin Yoga is a supported practice of restorative postures which help to release deep held tensions in the connective tissue of the body and mind.

Based on her study with one of the country’s leading Yin practitioners, Norman Blair, author of ‘Brightening our Inner Skies: Yin and Yoga’, Emma will guide you on a soothing journey led by the breath and with a focus on the Chinese medicine meridiens of the heart and lungs. She will use essential oils and gentle adjustments to help you release and unwind. This course is suitable for all- the stressed and inflexible are especially welcome!

12th October 2019 Total Body Yoga for Strength and Flexibility (12 Places Left!)

This workshop will combine the Yoga concepts of Sthiram (Strength) and Sukham (Comfort through Flexibility) exploring what needs to be strong and what needs to relax in our asana practice. Emma will teach with her usual range of options for everybody who wishes to practise, providing a total body and mind experience encouraging Prana and culminating in a deep relaxation at the end of the session.
